New Release - Version 2.8.5 - build 302

This release does not bring too many new features. We have been busy cleaning up the internals of the app and attempting to utilize the Android framework better. This is still a work in progress, but since it appears to be paying dividends, both in the robustness of the app and it's stability, we had to release it! Our goal is to deliver on new features quickly and reliably. Given how quickly our beloved app has grown, we had a little housecleaning to perform.

As part of the migration, we moved towards using the new Google Play Services library. Our reverse caller ID service also now uses the Google Maps V2 library for those devices running Android 3+. The look and feel on a tablet is also a bit different now but is absolutely not yet 100% completed! Finally, when you first open the app, click on the About menu option, you should notice a Google Plus One button. Our hope here is that you will click on it, and socially mention our app to your friends, family and other followers!

As you may know, we have an option in our app that sends crash reports to us. When we first went live with that feature, we were surprisingly inundated with crash reports (no one ever expects things to be that bad!). Each release attempts to resolve some of the more common issues. In this release, we resolved many of them. One of the most common bugs reported in the crash reporter was a bug with our Gtalk / Hangouts reader. This particular bug would trigger on certain devices whenever the network (internet) was disconnected and then reconnected. Given the frequency of this bug, we know many of you will notice an improvement!

As always, the revision history for our application can be found on our Changes page. For the complete revision history, please go here.

We are happy to announce that the Japanese language is now fully supported in our app. In addition, we had many users update our current translations via our, translation tool. Updating a poor translation, or adding new supported languages is very easy with this tool.

If you are satisfied with our apps, we would greatly appreciate a 5 star review on the Play store and a little comment from you on what you like about the app. If you are not 100% satisfied, please contact us and tell us why. We do strive for your 100% satisfaction and will try to correct any issues you encounter. If need be, we will gladly issue a refund. The only way we can improve is through the feedback you send us (through email and Google plus; comments left as reviews through the Google Play store are difficult to follow up on).
